When you are out drinking a cold one with your friends the last thing you think about is how many brands of beers are out there. Now on the face of it, they do seem like a lot of names but like any other market today, the beer industry too is controlled by just a handful of companies. This oligopoly is surfacing much too often and is not just in the beer industry, but in healthcare, pharmaceutical, fashion and even fast foods and beverages. Now this certainly get you thinking about those small brands that you perhaps tasted just once or twice and who have been either merged into a bigger brand or have been whipped out completely by bigger fish in the market.
