With Apple finally made its iPhone 5 debuts in China with opening gates for end users to purchase this new instalment of iPhone, the company announced that it has sets new records in the country as iPhone 5 sales top 2 million in opening weekend.
The country’s one of carrier and Apple’s partner China Unicon last week stated that there was already over 300,000 iPhone 5 reserved, so getting that number in the first weekend was a sure shot game.
“Customer response to iPhone 5 in China has been incredible, setting a new record with the best first weekend sales ever in China,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “China is a very important market for us and customers there cannot wait to get their hands on Apple products.”
