Samsung today only reported a huge result with a record profit of $5.86 billion, but there is something more in the store: the South-Korea giant grabs a record 26% mobile market share, according to the latest research from Strategy Analytic Wireless Device Strategies (WDS) service. Samsung shipped a total of 93 million handsets worldwide.
Nokia’s global handset shipments continued to decline (well, in this I have no doubt) reaching 83.7 million units in Q2 2012. Apple shipped 26.0 million handsets worldwide in Q2 2012. ZTE captured 5 percent of global handset shipments while LG shipments nearly halved year-over-year to 13.1 million units.
