Seems like Nokia and Microsoft taking their partnership beyond the operating system as the reports coming up that Nokia Maps will replace Bing Maps in Windows Phone 8. WP Central reports that Microsoft will replace Bing Maps with Nokia Maps in Windows Phone 8.
The addition will result in delivering 3D navigation and hardware acceleration. Furthermore, Nokia Maps will be available on Windows Phone-based device and not just limited to those of Nokia. Hans Peter Brondmo, head of innovation for Nokia’s Location and Commerce business told CNET last week claiming that, “We’re basically the world’s largest mapping company.”
