In a recent interview with Microsoft developer evangelist Nuno Silva gave to Zwame, Silva states that all Windows Phone sold till now should be getting the next “major version of Windows Phone” upgrade. Silva made it clear by pointing out that the upgrade is not limited only for the current devices but also back to Omnia 7.

When The Verge asked Microsoft about the upgrades, the software giant has to say: “We have nothing to share about future releases,” although the company does note that at the very least that “all apps in our Marketplace today will run on the next version of Windows Phone.” The publication further clarifies by citing the “close source” to Microsoft telling them that there is nothing true in this, as there will be no upgrade from Mango to Apollo.
