Lenovo Executive: Windows RT Tablets Could Start At $300

In an interview with Bloomberg, Lenovo’s head of North American operations, David Schmoock stated that “RT will play in consumer and retail at very aggressive price points.” He added, “It will do well but it’s going to be more of a consumer price point play to begin with,” Intel-powered Windows 8 tablets will cost $600 to $700, while Windows RT tablets with ARM mobile processors will be $200 to $300 cheaper. Schmoock estimates that they are more likely to grab a 20 percent to 25 percent market share. Now, this sounds like something real Windows 8 hardware war soon going to start.
