Lenovo Unveils New Idea PCs At IFA 2012: U510, Y400, Y500, Z400, Z500

Lenovo today at IFA 2012 Berlin event unveiled a whole new portfolio of Idea PCs primed for Windows 8. The portfolio includes a new IdePad U Series Ultrabook, IdeaPadY and Z Series laptops; all are powered by third generation Intel Core processors or AMD A-Series processors.

The 15-inch IdeaPad U510 measures just 21mm thick and weighing under 2.2kg, and features third generation Intel Core i7 processor, and as much as 1TB of HDD storage with an optional 32GB solid state drive cache, a battery life of up to six hours and an integrated DVD reader/writer or Blu-ray Disc drive. The IdeaPad U510 will be available September 2012 starting at $679.

Moving to the Lenovo’s Y series, the company announced the IdePad 14-inch Y400 and 15.6-inch Y500. Each model is equipped with up to third generation Intel Core i7 processors, NVIDIA GeForce GT655M 2GB dual graphics, up to 16GB DDR3 memory, and as much as 1TB of HDD storage. The IdeaPad Y400 and Y500 will be available October 2012 starting at $649.

The company also introduced 14-inch Z400 and 15.6-inch Z500, which are 25 percent slimmer than a standard laptop. The Z400 and Z500 features third generation standard voltage Intel Core i7 processors with availability in a range of colors, including coral blue, dark chocolate, peony pink, and enamel white. The IdeaPad Z400 will be available November 2012 starting at $549 and the IdeaPad Z500 will be available September 2012 starting at $549.
