The online auction giant eBay has announced plan to recruit an additional 450 people in Ireland, boosting the total number of staff – including its online payments service – up to 3,550 across the country.
The new jobs are for the roles across its customer service, sales and compliance divisions. 110 new hires will take place this year while the remaining 340 by the end of 2015. eBay reported its fourth quarter financial performance last month, with revenues of $3.99 billion and with the news is clearly indicates how the company heading to whole new heights.
“This new announcement is exceptional news for Ireland,” Prime Minister Enda Kenny said in a statement. “Last week’s agreement on bank debt will lead to further investment as confidence in the Irish economy continues to grow.”
