Yahoo announced today that it has been moving the New York-based Yahoo team into a four-story space just around the corner from Times Square. The company has taken a building in the heart of Manhattan and now will have its all 500 employees to work from there only. “We love the symbolism of our Yahoo! NYC team moving into the former New York Times building,” reads the blog post.

Here is what company’s CEO Marissa Mayer at its current ongoing event said about it:

“It has been an action packed today. Tonight we have something different. This morning we had acquisition news, tonight we have product news.”

“Why are we here in Times Square? Yahoo has been looking for a home in New York. We have several hundred emploeyes spread across smaller offices. But we’ve found it. We’ve taken a lease out right here in Times Square.”

“We’re going to gather all of our 500 employees here in New York.”
