You need to know what to say at an intervention because you need to have the best results from what could be one of the hardest things that you ever have to do with the people in your life. You could have friends or loved ones who need to go through an intervention, and you need to plan the intervention as best as you can. You have to remember that you can have an intervention that works, and you should try to figure out what can be said that is safe for everyone.

Calling It An Intervention

The problem with the word intervention is that people hate the way that it sounds. You need to call it something else. You could call it anything, but you need to pick a word that makes it sound like it has the best intentions. You could bring them in for a meeting because you are concerned, but you might want to be careful about calling it an intervention because that can be really dangerous for you.

Never Say Me

You cannot make it about yourself. You have to make sure that you have chosen the right kinds of words for the intervention, you cannot make it about you. If you are trying to get them to listen to you, you need to focus on what would be best for them. You also need to remember that you cannot focus on bad things that have happened. That does not help.

Do Not Talk About Inpatient

You cannot bring up inpatient treatment because that is scary and cold. You cannot make the person feel like you are throwing them in some dark cell because they are so messed up. It makes a lot more sense for you to ask them what they want to do. They might not want to do anything, but that is better than them running away because you brought up rehab and made it seem like they need to get sent away.

Judgements

You cannot sit there and judge them for all the things that they have done. You have to remember that it is going to be hard for you to get people to listen when you are judging them and forcing them to relive things they are probably not proud of. You also have to remember that you will have a much better time if you can just talk about what happened instead of forcing them to listen to what you think about the situation. This is about them.

Do Not Surprise Them

You should not surprise them with the intervention. You cannot make it this ambush where they feel like everyone has been plotting against them because they will feel like you are all out there conspiring against them. This creates paranoia, and it makes your life harder.

Effective drug and alcohol treatment in South Florida is needed for all people who are struggling with their addiction, who have had these problem for years, and people who are scared that they will never be able to fix it. They need to be put into an intervention, and the intervention needs to be staged with the right people, in the right place, and with the right questions.
