HTC has announced (via an email it sent to its users) that it is shutting down its Watch movies service in six countries by May 31st. The company says the service will take a closure in Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Sweden by May 31st while the store will no longer be available from May 15.

Here is the email that HTC has sent to users:

Dear Customer,

As a user of the HTC Watch service we would like to inform you that the store will no longer be available from 15 May. Until that date, you will still be able to purchase movies from HTC Watch shop as usual. Do not worry, this does not affect in any way the film that has already purchased, you will still be able to access its library and re-download them.

Thank you for being a customer HTC Watch, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. We’ll stay in touch, by providing updates on our future digital services.

Many thanks,

The Team HTC Watch
