Just because the summer is over and fall weather is cooler, it doesn’t mean a loved one’s birthday party has to be a bore. There are many fun things you can do to make a birthday party in the fall enjoyable, so take these ideas and start planning.
Host It Outside
Everyone thinks that a summer birthday is the best because you can have it outside, but with the heat, some people hate being outdoors. The fall season is better because it’s not so hot out, so everyone can be comfortable. Be sure to have some heat sources just in case it’s too cold in the evening hours. Bonfires are great for guests to huddle around.
Use Beautiful Fall Colors
Oranges, reds, yellows, browns, and dark greens are all typical colors for the fall, and they are beautiful, especially with the trees’ leaves turning colors. Play into the fall season by matching the birthday décor with the natural beauty of the outdoors.
Serve Comfort Fall Food
People like to eat light during the summer months because they are conscious of the way their body looks in a bikini. When bikini season is over, it’s time to indulge in comfort food. This means you can bring out all of the yummy macaroni and cheese, casseroles, breads, and more to satisfy hungry guests making them quite happy.
Choose Fall Activities
Summer parties usually have to do with the water, but in the fall, people often think of hayrides, pumpkin picking, and corn mazes. Set up a birthday party with all of these activities to delight guests of all ages.
Hire a DJ for Fun Music
While everyone is admiring the decorations, eating the comfort food, and taking part in all of the autumn birthday activities you’ve arranged, have some music to complete it. Many DJs have an assortment of fall-themed music you can have played at the party. Ask for a list, and then you can pick the songs you’d like played. If the birthday party is close to Halloween, don’t forget to include all of the Halloween music favorites.
Costume Party?
Speaking of Halloween, if the birthday party you’re planning is a week or two before Halloween, consider having a costume party. Either you can have a theme, or you can allow people to come dressed as anything they would like. It’s quite interesting to see what guests come up with for costumes.
If you’re planning a party for a loved one, know that as long as you put thought into the preparation, he or she will love it. If it’s not a surprise, ask the birthday boy or girl what he or she envisions for the party. If it is a surprise, think about what your loved one would choose, and plan it that way. The most important thing is that you start planning as soon as possible. The more time you have, the better the party will be because you have time to make changes or add details that will make the party perfect.
