The deal-site Groupon has announced that Veit Dengler will become senior vice president of international operations, replacing Marc Samwer, who had joined the company as part of its 2010 acquisition of German firm Citydeal. The company’s international business division accounts pretty well as it is able to generate half of provider’s revenue.

Dengler, an Austrian, comes to Groupon from Dell Inc., where he was head of the computer maker’s Eastern European and Russian operations. Groupon said that the transition was “long planned.” Samwer helped build “an extraordinary team,” Groupon CEO Andrew Mason said in the statement.
