The social giant said to start charging businesses to run “Offers” on the Facebook, turning the earlier free service into a potential revenue opportunity, Reuters reports. Earlier this year, Facebook launched Facebook Offers, allowing retailers and other local merchants send deals to their Facebook fans base.
The company since from the time turned public results into building huge pressure into itself from Wall Street showing how it can turn the social network into fetching more monetization. Even, the company shares have lost about 40 percent of their value since the IPO.
The service was earlier free, but in coming weeks the company will ask merchants to pay at least $5 on related ads to promote each Facebook Offer to targeted audience of fans as well as friends of fans, although the actual cost does vary and will be based on the size of a company’s social pages.
