Why Every Family Needs An Outdoor Kitchen

There is a growing trend around the world to add living space outdoors. Sometimes you can simply leave that patio open and arrange furniture to use as an outdoor family room and other times you may want to use that large lawn for something other than mowing thegrass every week! Have you considered adding an outdoor kitchen open on all sides with just a roof overhead? There are many ways to construct a kitchen outside the home and many reasons for doing so. Here are some of those reasons why every family needs an outdoor kitchen.

Keeps the Mess Outside

No matter how hard you try to keep the mess in your kitchen to a minimum, it seems like there is never enough counter space to do everything you need to do, especially on holidays. With an outdoor kitchen, you can do much of the prep and cooking outside, and if you hook up a sink, you have everything you need to prepare some of the most delectable dinners without one bit of mess inside.

Reduces Odors Indoors

While some foods are naturally aromatic, others seem to stinkout the entire home. With an outdoor kitchen, you can keep those odors to a minimum and if you enjoy smoked foods, the only place you can safely smoke them is outdoors. You would be amazed at the number of foods you can cook in an electric smoker. Have you ever heard of smoked stuffed cabbage? If not, you can find the recipe at the Electric Smoker Center. Remember, that smoke is toxic if inhaled, so keep your outdoor kitchen well away from open windows in your home.

Great for Summer Entertaining

Every family enjoys an outdoor barbeque in the summer, don’t they? If you do a lot of outdoor entertaining, why do all that work carrying foods in and out of the kitchen? Once you have installed an outdoor kitchen, you can prepare and serve outdoors by the pool or patio without traipsing in and out of the house. This is especially useful (and money saving!) if you keep your air conditioner running on hot summer days. Why let all that cool air out by opening the door so many times? Simply use your outdoor kitchen and there’s no need to worry.

Gets You Out into the Sunlight and Fresh Air More Often

Unless you go on family outings to the park or spend time poolside, you probably aren’t getting enough time outdoors to soak up all that vitamin D from the UVB rays from the sun. Experts say that you need about 10 minutes in direct sunlight every day with enough skin exposed to absorb those rays. While too much exposure isn’t good for you either, that covered outdoor kitchen will keep you shaded just enough to allow the right amount of exposure.

Getting the family outdoors more often is healthier than you can imagine. Not only will you spend more quality time together, but you can keep the home cleaner, fresher and free from nasty odors. If you haven’t considered an outdoor kitchen, maybe now is the time to do so. With summer just around the corner, there’s no time to waste.
