With HTC last week announcement of its Q2 unaudited results, the company reports a huge fall of 57.8 percent in its quarterly net profit, which was T$7.4 billion ($247.7 million) for the period between April and June, the company denies rumors saying that it is having no plans to cut jobs. Taipei Times reported that the company’s CFO and spokesperson Chang Chia-lin said the rumors were “untrue,” and “the market speculation of job cuts at HTC is untrue.” Chang further said in the filing, denying layoff speculation, “the company is not renewing contracts with workers when their contracts expire.” Well, one or other whether rumors are true or not, we will get to know soon.
