Zynga’s FarmVille game we all know pretty well but what make us happy more to know that the game is still a top-performer for the social gaming giant, the company revealed in its latest filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The company reports that online game revenue increased $62.9 million in the first quarter of 2012 in which FarmVille accounted for $24.2 million in revenue for the company.
FarmVille was launched in June 2009, and the increase in revenue reflects an increase in bookings due to the release of new content, as well as the recognition of revenue derived from deferred revenue built up over a longer period of time. In the three months ended March 31, 2012, FarmVille was Zynga’s top revenue-generating games comprised of 29%. In terms of revenue, FarmVille accounts for 27% during the same period.
