Bloomberg: Next Xbox Will Feature An AMD X86 Chip

With Xbox event scheduled for May 21st, news making waves already. According to a report on Bloomberg, it is to believe that the next Xbox will feature an AMD x86 chip, which in turn will make backwards compatibility difficult. The publication citing “one of the people” mentioned that the company next instalment of Xbox will use an AMD system-on-a-chip which will combines powerful “Jaguar” central processing units with graphics chips.

Adding the current information with the earlier information we have, combining all now together the hardware specs for Microsoft’s next game console will be something like this: a 64-bit D3D11.x 800MHz GPU, an 8-core x64 1.6GHz 4MB L2 CPU, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB of on-board memory, USB 3.0, HDMI-out, and an optical drive for 50GB discs.
