Asus Begins Shipping Free Transformer Prime GPS Dongles

Asus has started sending out free GPS dongles to Transformer Prime owners affected by the tablet’s location-fixing woes. A Droid Life reader has already received a GPS Extension Kit. The kit should fix what successive firmware updates weren’t able to but it is a pretty bulky add-on and you won’t be able to use the Prime’s keyboard dock or charge the tablet at all while it’s attached.

Even one of our readers Gavin van Wyk had stated: “The product must be recalled and replaced with the TF700t which actually meets the specification given on the TF201. I keep loosing WiFi when other devices show a good signal and the GPS is not worth talking about. The proposed dongle does nothing with the WiFi problem and i do not accept it as a solution since it was not part of the specification when i bought the device.” We hope with the addition the company is offering helps our reader and other who had been affected.
