Amazon Is Set To Sell Prepaid 500MB SIM Card In Japan For Flat Rate Of $25

Nikkei reports that Amazon is set to enter the Japanese MVNO market, with an aim to sell prepaid 500MB SIM card for a flat rate of ¥1980 (about $25), the first by any foreign corporation. It would be a first break for a foreign entity but it will only seem “beneficial” if the results (output) would be positive although to note here that typical smartphone service contracts in Japan cost between ¥5000 and ¥6000 (about $63 to $75) a month
