The social gaming giant Zynga which is known pretty well for games like FarmVille, Mafia Wars, and Words with Friends had sued French gaming company Kobojo over the company’s Pyramidville game for trademark infringement. The social games studio last year released a Facebook game called PyramidVille, and, in partnership with a company called BulkyPix, brought the game to mobile devices (PDF) at the beginning of this year. Zynga isn’t too happy with the name Kobojo chose for its flagship game, as the Zynga has created and released many of its successful games with ‘ville’ at the end, including FarmVille, CityVille, CastleVille, FishVille, FrontierVille, PetVille and YoVille. You can find more background about the case on Justia.com’s Tech Law blog.
