Although Microsoft coming soon with its latest operating system, Windows 8 and mobile operating system, Windows Phone 8, the company today unveiled its new logo representing multicolored symbol, giving a total new look since from the time 25 years ago from its first introduction. While, talking to The Seattle Times, Microsoft’s Jeff Hansen reveals that the new logo is designed to “signal the heritage but also signal the future — a newness and freshness.”
Here is how the company explained what the new logo is all about:
The logo has two components: the logotype and the symbol. For the logotype, we are using the Segoe font which is the same font we use in our products as well as our marketing communications. The symbol is important in a world of digital motion (as demonstrated in the video above.) The symbol’s squares of color are intended to express the company’s diverse portfolio of products.
