Malaysia going to be the next big hub of Samsung Electronics after South Korea by 2015, the Malaysia newspaper Sin Chew Jit Poh reported Thursday. The country’s Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed shared Samsung’s plan by Samsung’s SDI president and chairman, Park Sang Jin.

“I am satisfied with the performance of Samsung as a leading technology venture where it is always involved in the areas of new and emerging technologies, and the result has been brought to Malaysia,” said Minister of International Trade and Industry Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamad. Samsung SDI is an affiliate of Samsung Electronics and contributed about 1.7% of Malaysia’s gross domestic product in 2010 so if it really comes into existence as per plans then Malaysia would represent “Truly Asia.”
