Hacker Group Anonymous Threatens Facebook Shutdown January 28, YouTube Video Says

“While it is true that Facebook has atleast 60,000 servers, it is still possible to bring it down”, words of the Hacker Group Anonymous voice that purports to represent the group in a video posted on video sharing website YouTube. The group is planning to target Facebook in an attack on January 28.

“An online war has begun between Anonymous, the people, and the government of the United States,” the narrator begins. The reason: SOPA, PIPA and other perceived threats to Internet rights.

Think what happened when Wikipedia was black-out for a whole single day, now what will happen if the world’s largest social networking website Facebook turns down.

“An online war has begun between Anonymous, the people and the government of the United States,” the video begins. “While SOPA and PIPA may be postponed from Congress, this doesn’t guarantee that our Internet rights will be upheld.”

Following the U.S. government takedown file-sharing site Megaupload last week, Anonymous attacked many government and big companies website.
