Today at the second day of Google’s I/O 2012 event, the company’s SVP of Chrome and apps Sundar Pichai announced that Google Chrome reaches 310 million active users. Two years ago, Chrome had 70 million users, said Google. Just a year ago, the browser had grown to 160 million users and now that number has almost doubled again. Pitchai further covered the announcement of Chrome for Android and discussed the growth of internet traffic, which he says has reached 2.3 billion users while mobile users now account for 1 billion of those. Google has also announced that 425 million people are using Gmail.
