Amazon Announces 7-inch And 8.9-inch Kindle Fire HDX Tablet

Amazon today announced its new instalment of Kindle Fire tablet: the Kindle Fire HDX. The new versions of tablet will comes in 7-inch and 8.9-inch sizes. The tablet will feature 3x faster processor, 4x faster GPU and 2x the memory. The 8.9-inch HDX display variant includes 339 ppi, 4 million pixels, 100% sRGB color accuracy, dynamic image contrast, weighs 13.2 ounces; means 34% lighter as compared to earlier version. The tablet will comes with all-day battery life, up to 11 hours of mixed used while 17 hours of reading time. It runs on Fire OS 3.0 “Mojito.”

The 7-inch variant starts at $229 for 16GB model and $329 for an LTE-compatible device while the 8.9-inch variant starts at $349 while $479 for the LTE-version. Both are open for pre-orders now while the WiFi-only 7-inch model begins shipping on October 15 with the 4G versions shipping will take a month more. The 8.9-inch Kindle HDX shipping starts from November 7 or December if in case if you want a 4G device.
