Windows 8 Now Holds 3.84% Market Share, Although Official Number Still Not Released By Microsoft

Although the original numbers still not shared by Microsoft for its Windows 8 yet, Net Applications has come up with the market share data for the month of April 2013, revealing that Windows 8 now stands at up to 3.84% market share but the Windows platform loses overall. The April 2013 data show that Windows 8 has gained 0.53 percentage points, from 3.31% to 3.84%, while Windows 7 taken a U-turn with lowered by 0.01 percentage point, from 44.73% to 44.72%.

Meanwhile, Windows Vista dropped down 0.24 percentage points, from 4.99% to 4.75%, while Windows XP lost 0.42 percentage points, from 38.73% to 38.31%. Interestingly, the Windows lose was OS X and Linux gain, as overall Windows lost 0.11 percentage points, from 91.89 percent to 91.78 percent, while OS X grabbed 0.07 percentage points and Linux grabbed 0.04 percentage points.
