Windows 7 Overtakes XP In Market Share, Mac OS X Overtakes Windows Vista

Although Microsoft about to launch Windows 8 publicly, but what according to latest data from Net Applications suggests that Microsoft Windows 7 finally overtaken the Windows XP operating system, and Apple’s Mac OS X has overtaken Windows Vista (but all Mac OS X versions need to be combined).

Windows 7 market share from July to August gained 0.51 percent, i.e. from 42.21 percent to 42.72 percent, while Windows Vista market share slipped 0.45 percent points, from 6.60 percent to 6.15 percent, and Windows XP fell 0.34 percent, from 42.86 percent to 42.52 percent. At the same time Mac OS gained 0.16 percent while Linux gained 0.08 percent points.
