Washington Renowned Attorney Robert Bennett Represents Megaupload

On Friday, when U.S. accuses a major internet content hosting website, MegaUpload.com of copyright infringement charges, till than no one knows what the future holds for the website. But when the site executives arrive in court to answer the charges, they’ll be backed by a well known Washington based attorney Robert Bennett.

Robert Bennett mentioned on Friday that he will represent the company on the charges of a massive online piracy scheme. The lawyer earlier defended Bill Clinton case against sexual harassment charges.

The U.S. government close down MegaUpload.com and accuses all seven individuals and two corporations – Megaupload Limited and Vestor Limited alleging the illegal downloads of copyrighted movies and other content. The company is even generating more than $175 million through various revenue channels.

Soon after the news spread like fire across the world, a Hacker group known as Anonymous reacts to Megaupload takedown with 5,635 participants. The group Anonymous on their Twitter account declared, “The government takes down #Megaupload? And in response to that 15 minutes later #Anonymous takes down government & record label sites. #ExceptUs.”

Bennett said that “we intend to vigorously defend against these charges” but declined to comment on the case in detail.

Later even a news spread that “Megaupload is Back” on its new internet name – megavideo.bz.
