We have reached in such a time where we have around 1.5 billion computer users worldwide. Worldwide computer usage increased 342% from 200 to 2008; all of these users create and interact with data. Luckily, hard drive manufacturers have kept up, producing bigger and cheaper hard drives years after years. Our hard drives are becoming larger still. In May 2007 Hitachi introduced the first terabyte hard drive, which holds 1000GB. One Company, colossal strange, predicts they will have a 1.2 petabyte hard drive on the market in 2-5 years.
