A motorhome is more than a vehicle. It is a travelling hotel, a base on wheels which allows you to drive wherever you want to go. You don’t have to plan with a motorhome either, you can just go wherever you feel like, follow the road or the coastline until you come upon your next surprise destination.

The Freedom of the Open Road

It is the freedom that a motorhome offers that makes it such a great way to explore, as well as the fact that at any point you can stop and sleep in a comfortable bed, even if you are stuck in the middle of nowhere. Sometimes that makes it even more special, being alone with friends and loved ones away from civilization – experiencing a true adventure.

The World is your Oyster

And the world really is your oyster if you choose a campervan or RV as your vehicle/travelling home of choice. Of course crossing seas can be tricky. Smaller bodies of water can often be traversed on ferries, but needless to say you would struggle driving from India to Australia, or England to the USA.

Thankfully you can hire a motorhome that suits your needs in just about any country you want to visit, giving you the opportunity to explore a new land with real freedom to go where you want and do as you please.

The world is full of amazing attractions and in truth there are too many places for one adventurer to find and enjoy in a lifetime, but you can certainly try to see as many as possible. With that in mind, here are some fabulous motorhome holiday destinations across the globe.

If you take a trip down under hiring an RV is a great way to explore this expansive nation. Of course Australia is absolutely huge so you won’t be able to see all of it, but a campervan will give you the chance to explore city life – based around the coasts of the country – and also drive inland to spend some time in the bush. There are some stunning beach-side camping grounds in Oz where you can enjoy amazing views and laze on the beach as much as you like, before you decide it is time to set off on the next leg of your adventure.

New Zealand

If you’re in Australasia a trip over to New Zealand is highly recommended too. A different climate and landscape makes New Zealand quite a different destination from Australia, despite the relative closeness of the countries. Here you can drive through scenery that was used in the filming of Lord of the Rings, cruise up into mountains where you can ski and snowboard, or visit the nation’s cities to experience local culture. This is a fantastic driving country, with famous routes such as Te Anau to Milford Sound, taking you through woodland, golden meadows and along coastal roads.

Canada is another vast and beautiful country, with landscapes that change from green and leafy to snowy and mountainous. A motorhome is the perfect way to travel around the less arctic areas of this stunning nation, and cities such as Quebec and Ontario are well worth a visit if you crave civilisation.

The USA is famous for its epic stretches of road that cross the country and wind down coastlines. It is therefore a fantastic destination for an RV holiday. Take the famous Route 66 across this sprawling nation or choose your own path of exploration. With a great vehicle – and many are available for hire here – you are free to wander the land.

Europe is also a great place to have a campervan, as you can drive easily from one country to another. France is a particular draw for campers, as here there are endless campsites throughout the country, whether you want to explore Paris, the gorgeous south of France or the snow-capped Pyrenees.

The world is a huge place and it is full of wonders, ready for you to explore. And in a motorhome you can do just that, so start planning your next adventure now and hit the open road.
