According to the results of a new study from Sociable Labs, only 30 of the top 500 or only 6% online retailers have added the option of logging in with Facebook to their account creation process. The fourteen-page study titled “Log In With Facebook and the 2012 Internet Retailer Top 500″ (PDF, via All Facebook) states that only 6 percent of the top 500 sites integrated Facebook with the core of their e-commerce site for the purpose of user account creation, resulting Sociable Labs concluding that the plugin adoption by the Internet Retailer Top 500 is still in its beginning stages and believes this shows “an untapped opportunity area.”
