Study: 29% Of Consumers Simultaneous TV And Internet Make Online Comments About TV Programs In Brazil

According to a new report from the research firm IBOPE Nielsen Online, 29% of consumers simultaneous TV and internet make online comments about the programs, with major keen interest on social networks. The study was conducted in 13 metropolitan areas with person age 10 years or older, between 12 and 29 February 2012.

Talking about the habits, 43% are in the habit of watching TV while surfing the internet. Of these, 59% reported doing so every day, while one in six Brazilian surf the Internet. While most watch TV with the Internet are young people, mainly between 20 and 24, among adults, this habit is higher among women and among people in economy class AB.

Here is what the Jose Calazans, a market analyst at Nielsen IBOPE Online said about it: “The simultaneous use of television and internet shows that there is no abandonment of a medium over the other and there is the opportunity to explore the great affinity that Brazilians are the two ways.”
