The Financial Times is reporting that Sony is shaking up the leadership structure of its US entertainment businesses and will name the current Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman and CEO, Michael Lynton as chief executive of Sony Corporation of America. The move is reportedly taking in preparation for Sir Howard Stringer’s handover as chairman and chief executive to Kazuo Hirai. Adding further, Nicole Seligman, the Japanese group’s general counsel will reportedly be named president of SCA. The move comes as Sony’s newly appointed CEO Kazuo Hirai gearing up to take his CEO responsibilities from Sir Howard Stringer on April 1st.
