As reported earlier that Sony and Panasonic both are in talks to give rivals an edge, Reuters citing “sources” reports that the partnership between both the companies to cooperate in developing ways to build OLED televisions.
The companies’ rivals Samsung and LG already plan to sell 55-inch OLED televisions which are slim as well as consumer less power and do offer sharper images than liquid crystal display sets, pricing at $9000 and $8000 respectively, will hit the ground by the year-end.
Other publication Nikkei reported that Sony is developing technology that will fabricate screens using sprays, while Panasonic is using inkjet printer technology to make OLED screens and making an investment of 30 billion yen ($374 million) to set up production line for a plant in Japan.
