Sony Announces Xperia SP And Xperia L Android Smartphone, Launching Q2 2013

Sony today announced two new smartphone models added to its Xperia range of premium smartphone along with Xperia SP and Xperia L. While Xperia SP offers the end users high quality HD experience, LTE 4G as well as easy connectivity with One-touch function, similarly Xperia L offers a stylish design with best in class Sony camera experience on board.

The Xperia SP features a 4.6-inch, 720-pixel “Reality Display” with a 1280 X 720 resolution. The device is powered by Sony’s own Bravia Engine 2 technology, running on a 1.7GHz Qualcomm MSM8960Pro dual-core processor, with 8GB internal storage and a 2370 mAh battery. Giving a better camera experience, the device includes an 8-megapixel camera on the back with “Exmor RS for mobile” image sensor.

The device runs on Jelly Bean Android 4.1 and is LTE-enabled with one-touch functionality via NFC. The Xperia SP will be available in white, red and black color schemes at launch and will be available worldwide from second quarter 2013.

The second smartphone Sony unveiled, the Xperia L is a lower-end device with 4.3-inch FWVGA display on board with 854 X 480 displays with the 8-megapixel camera along with Sony’s “Exmore RS for mobile” sensor. There are no words on front camera while it does contain the same 8GB of memory expandable via a microSD card slot.

The device runs on a 1 GHz Qualcomm MSM8230 dual-core processor, as well as a 1750 mAh battery and will be available in white, red and black color schemes. The device will be available worldwide from second quarter 2013 although there are no words yet on pricing of either.
