The company seemed comparing the “sales” pace of the Galaxy S2 with its predecessor Galaxy S model – combining the sales of both smartphones, the sales exceeded 40 million unit marks – pointing towards the sales figures representation – the company says it represent only the number of mobile phones shipped to wireless carriers, not the number of smartphones sold to customers in an all.

Strong sales of smartphones pushed up the Samsung’s January financial report which saw a 17 percent rise in net income to reach 4 trillion won (US $3.5 billion) for the final quarter of last year, although its quarter fourth operating profit accounted for a record high of 5.3 trillion won.
