Yesterday the Korean Times cited an anonymous Samsung official as it source claimed that the South-Korean giant was planning to stop selling LCD panels to Apple next year. Now, on responding to CNET by telling that the Korea Times report was completely false, and “Samsung Display has never tried to cut the supply for LCD panels to Apple.” The reason provided for doing this was that the hefty discounts asked by Apple sounds an unprofitable transaction for Samsung “as it believes its American partner is no longer a cash-generator due to the iPhone maker’s stiffer supply-chain management structure.” Well, with the last day words of publication, Samsung still counts Apple as its beloved customer.
