According to a report on The Wall Street Journal, the United States believes on the basis of congressional investigation that Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei and ZTE are threats to national security and has asked government to remove their products soon.

The investigation, which was a year-long , done by the House Intelligence Committee concluded that the Chinese firms Huawei and ZTE poses “security threat” to the country as their equipment could possibly be used for spying purpose.

Over on report, Huawei spokesman William Plummer told the Journal that the concerns are “baseless:” “Purporting that Huawei is somehow uniquely vulnerable to cyber-mischief ignores technical and commercial realities, recklessly threatens American jobs and innovation, and does nothing to protect national security.”
