Panasonic Outlines Damages Over The Anti-Japan Protests To Its China Operations

Panasonic has released a statement stating the group manufacturing sites caused by the anti-Japan demonstrators in China although the company noted that none of its personnel were injured but three of its factories were affected during the protests. The damages in the factories are as follows:

  • Industrial Devices Company, Qingdao factory: There was damage to the building, equipment, etc.
  • Industrial Devices Company, Suzhou factory: Despite some damage to the building, equipment, etc., there was no major damage to production equipment. With safety as a priority, operations at the factory restarted from September 17.
  • Systems & Communications Company, Zhuhai factory: The factory has stopped operation and employees have stayed at home, since approximately 10 Chinese employees made a protest. The factory is preparing to restart the operations, after ensuring safety.
