Microsoft today announced a major upgrade for its Outlook.com app for Android devices, bringing the entire user interface and offering users a number of new features. The upgrade brings the new look and feel, filters for unread and flagged messages, conversation threading and marking messages as junk. You can download the app directly via the Google Play Store.
Here is what Steve Kafka, Outlook.com Program Management says about the upgrade:
We believe that the best mobile experience is enabled through Exchange ActiveSync–which provides a rich, powerful, network-optimized experience for Windows Phone, iOS and other mobile devices. However, native support for Exchange ActiveSync on Android devices varies significantly and so we build a separate app to ensure as many people as possible can have a great Outlook.com experience across all their devices.
