Nokia is now rolling a new Lumia 800 update starting to go out, bringing the phone up to firmware 12072.  The primary component of 12072 is code that fixes the problems brought-on by 12070. The new update reportedly bring changes to the phone’s camera app, automatically detecting 50Hz or 60Hz flickering from electronic lights when using flicker reduction, as well introduces some improved power management behavior with better charger recognition. The update will be available now but the Nokia’s software availability page still refers to 12070 as the most recent release.

Jay Montano of My Nokia Blog has received the email from Nokia to let me know about a new software update for the Lumia 800:

I’ve not had a chance to do the update or even connect to Zune, but the email promises improved WiFi connectivity and better battery life. I’ve had the phone for a month and no updates have been available since then, but this still doesn’t seem to be the elusive internet sharing update. When I’ve had a chance, I’ll let you know what happens.
