New York City Saw Another Event ‘Cleanweb Hackathon’ Contributing Towards Clean Technology Ecosystem

The weekend saw many of developers gathered together for the second Cleanweb Hackathon in New York City. Programmer builds different mobile and web apps spreading new ways to manage the world’s resource problems – water, energy, fuel and food.

The event demonstrates the impact of applying information technology to resource constraints with the goal to build apps and hacks exploiting new sustainable business models while leveraging the mobile and social web.

Application created like NYC BLDGS, a web database of the energy consumptions of New York buildings that pits the best and worst buildings against each other. A website name Econofy, created that enables consumers to compare the energy consumption of appliances and many others. Econofy won both the audience choice award and the judges award for best overall hack.
