Although Microsoft’s next Windows operating instalment is still weeks away, but the company has announced a cumulative Windows 8 update by improving app performance as well as battery life. The company’s Steven Sinofsky in a blog post stated that the tech giant managed “to deliver these ‘post-RTM’ updates sooner than a [traditional] service pack.” For MSDN and enterprise customers, the updates are available already while for the rest of the world, the wait is until Windows 8 hit the market on October 26th. The update includes:
- Increased power efficiency to extend battery life
- Performance improvements in Windows 8 applications and Start screen
- Improved audio and video playback in many scenarios
- Improved application and driver compatibility with Windows 8
