With mystery finally solved with the announcement by Microsoft of its Surface Windows 8 Tablet, the company has also revealed that the tablet contain an integrated multitouch keyboard and trackpad. The cover adds 3mm to the Surface’s thickness. There are no words whether this accessory comes as an additional, bundle-up item option or an optional purchase but we expect that pricing and availability details will be out soon.

Surface will be available: one running an ARM processor featuring Windows RT, and one with a third-generation Intel Core processor featuring Windows 8 Pro. The initial Surface is a tablet which is 9.3mm thick, features a full-size USB 2 port, beveled edges canted at 22 degrees and weighs 1.5 lbs. The casing is made of magnesium and Microsoft calls Surface, a ‘full PC’.
