Micromax Eyeing With A $400 Android Smartphone For The Masses

India’s mobile carrier Micromax which is know most of the time who has been selling cellphones for less than $100, even sometimes for less than $50 – currently offers five smartphones, the least expensive starting at $80, also is keeping an eye on huge market with its latest A85. The A85, which runs on Google’s Android operating system, has a front-facing camera that captures hand gestures is priced at $400.

The mobile maker is trying to combine the high-end technology savvy with the smarter price that each of their phones comes at in the hope to sell a smartphone to the masses.  Micromax planning to introduce four more smartphones every quarter and for the category to the account for one-quarter of the company’s revenue for the fiscal year by next March. The company is aiming for a 10% share of the Indian smartphone market by the end of 2012.
