Mercedes Benz Selling Special Edition Smart Cars On China’s Sina Weibo Microblog

This might sounds like on which part of world we reached or better to say which technological part we reached, well the buzz is that Mercedes Benz are lining up its 666 units to be sold through social media mentioning it as limited editions Smart Car on the China’s Sina Weibo microblogging service, China Daily reports.

Mercedes Benz is selling about 666 units at a price of RMB128,888 each (about $12,700) in an urge to celebrate the upcoming Year on the Chinese zodiac. “It is the first time an automobile brand is offering its products in such an innovative sales approach,” said Daniel Lescow, head of Mercedes-Benz China’s smart vehicle division.

“The smart brand has always been innovative in communicating with consumers, introducing exciting and surprising marketing initiatives and leading a new trend in online sales in the auto industry,” Mao Jingbo, its vice-president added. “Our collaboration with the leading Chinese social media platform, Sina Weibo, is not just an innovative way to sell cars,” she said.
