The Next Web is reporting that the business networking website LinkedIn is testing the Facebook-style linked mentions of people and companies in status updates and conversation. The update means a link being added to person or company concerned and it will sends a notification to that account as well as the person or the company got a mention. The implementation of the feature come includes with automatic detection of names and a drop-down menu to select from as you type.
A LinkedIn spokesperson told the publication the “We are currently testing the ability for members to directly mention each other in professional conversations on LinkedIn. This test is part of our ongoing efforts to help members further engage with their networks in meaningful ways across the LinkedIn platform.”
