Lenovo Announces Its First Windows 8 Tablet: ThinkPad Tablet 2

With the details leaked last week, the company made it official today, Lenovo announced the ThinkPad Tablet 2, featuring 10.1-inch screen and constituted with Microsoft’s upcoming Windows 8 operating system. The tablet weighs less than 600 grams and measures 9.8 mm thick. It is equipped with Intel’s Atom processor Cover Trail and will be released in October with the Windows 8 Pro OS. The device is meant for both office and home use. Other feature includes optional support for pen input, NFC, a fingerprint reader, a dock that includes a keyboard, and LTE / HSPA+ connectivity. Depending on geographic, the tablet will come with optional 3G and 4G connectivity options. Along with this, an optional keyboard and dock can be attached to turn the tablet into a PC. The pricing for the tablet will be announced at the time close to the launch date.
