Kodak Suing Apple, Claiming Interference In Patent Sales

Reuters reports that the bankrupt Kodak is suing Apple in order to stop it from interfering with its plan to sell a large patent portfolio of over 1,100 patents. The lawsuit which was filed on Monday in Manhattan, Kodak said that Apple claiming that 10 of Kodak patents is actually of its own since from the time the companies work together in the early 1990s. The patents include technology that helps camera owners preview photographs on LCD screens.

Kodak last week filed a motion seeking approval of bidding of its Digital Capture and Kodak imaging Systems and Services patent portfolios. The patent total comprises of more than 1,100 patents in numbers. Kodak said Apple is the largest infringer of patents in that portfolio, and also a potential purchaser of those patents.
